The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Regimental Pipes & Drums, C-division, one of seven in Canada, is based in Montreal and serves communities policed by the force in Quebec and Ontario.

The band performs for the public in both Canada and the U.S., in support of regional and local community endeavours. Including charity fundraisers, special interest group concerts, schools, sport and cultural awards ceremonies, fairs and parades, memorial services, state and official occasions, and RCMP ceremonial functions.

The RCMP expects the band to support them for three main functions:

  • St-Patrick’s Day Parade
  • Remembrance Day
  • & their Annual Medals Presentations.

There are currently as of 2006 there are RCMP Pipe Bands in:

  • Vanvouver, BC.
  • Edmonton, Ab.
  • Regina, Sk.
  • Ottawa, On.
  • Montreal, Qc.
  • Codiac, NB.
  • Halifax, NS.

The pipe band is currently under the direction of Pipe Major Wanda Goundrey &
Drum Major Mike Berube. It is comprised of police and citizen volunteers. Among our members; a dairy farmer, shepard, apple grower and a U.S. Border patrol agent.

The band practices every Tuesday, from 7 to 9 pm at the Canadian Legion hall in Huntingdon, Que. as well as once a month at the RCMP Montreal HQ.

The mandate of the band is to benefit the community through music. We are definitely an example of harmony across the border!
